Mr. Lizard

Mr. Kizard

Mr. Kizard

I wanted to do a piece of “little boy art” for my etsy shop and came up with this.  I am sure he will go well next to Mr. Turtle’s portrait.  I am not quite sure what kind of lizard he is, I but thought he was interesting.  I’ll have to do a little research before I list him, although I am sure I can get away with just lizard as a description tag if I can’t determine it for sure.

The color palette is much the same as the previous fox drawings – beiges and grays.  I’m not sure he is quite done yet, especially in the shadows.  I’ll look at him again tomorrow.

I think I’ll start going through my architectural pictures again and see if something pops out at me for my next piece.  The winter doldrums seem to have set in and I am feeling rather uninspired.  suggestions are welcome.

I’m not really a reptile person but I find him quite handsome.

Very nicely done lizard! When you mentioned boy’s room, I thought what if you did a train station, maybe a whimsically colored one? A shark? Or for something completely different, maybe a train engine or a muscle car.

Good job, Ruth. I am going to post a python I’ve been working on and I can fathom some of the decisions you had to make in creating him just because I have been working with something with scales. I like how you handled this.
I know what you mean about winter doldrums. It is not so much the snow as it is the cold this winter. I have felt chilled to the bone the last three or four weeks!

I look forward to seeing your python. I hope this spring we will actually make that Indianapolis zoo visit. Part of my problem is that I really, really have run out of pictures to work from and I do like to use my own.

It has been cold here. Monday night my thermometer said -10. I’d rather have the cold than all of last year’s snow though.
